At Motion Media Works, you will learn how professional audiovisual productions are built from the warehouse floor to live show execution.

This is not a desk job.

It is a hands-on career where you will work with real equipment, solve real problems, and watch empty spaces transform into live events that hundreds or thousands of people experience.

One week, you may help set up a meeting room for twenty executives.

The next week, you may help build a ballroom for one thousand guests, support a major exhibition, prepare equipment for a webcast, or help install an LED wall for a corporate event.

Every event starts as an empty space.

Our job is to transform it.

If you are looking for an easy office job with the same routine every day, this probably is not the role for you.

This Is A Technical Trade

Many people imagine event work as glamorous.

The reality is different.

Great events are built by crews who are willing to prepare equipment, load vehicles, push flight cases, run cables, solve problems, work safely and keep going until every detail is right.

Guests usually only see the finished event.

You will know what it took to build it.

This is a professional technical trade.

You will spend time in warehouses, loading areas, hotels, exhibition halls, convention centres, ballrooms and backstage areas.

What You’ll Actually Do

You will work across warehouse preparation, logistics, event setup and live execution.

No two weeks are exactly the same.

Some days you will be preparing equipment for tomorrow’s conference.

Other days you will be helping build an exhibition booth, supporting a livestream, setting up a ballroom, preparing wireless microphones, installing displays or assisting with an LED wall system.

In The Warehouse

• Prepare equipment using packing lists and job sheets.
• Test, clean, label, pack and stage equipment.
• Check accessories, adapters, power supplies, stands and cables.
• Report damaged, faulty or missing equipment.
• Keep equipment organised, maintained and ready for deployment.
• Learn how different systems are packed, protected and prepared before they reach site.

Deliveries & Logistics

• Load and unload equipment safely.
• Support deliveries and collections across Singapore.
• Handle TVs, speakers, projectors, LED panels, trussing and flight cases correctly.
• Pack vehicles safely so equipment is protected and easy to deploy.
• Help make sure the right equipment reaches the right venue at the right time.

On Event Sites

• Assist with setup, testing, operation and teardown.
• Run cables neatly and safely.
• Support audio, video, lighting, webcast and display systems.
• Troubleshoot basic issues during setup and live events.
• Follow instructions from team leaders and project managers.
• Stay calm when plans change quickly.
• Take pride in helping the event run properly.

Your First 90 Days

Nobody starts by running the audio console on Day One.

Every good technician starts by learning the fundamentals.

The first few months are where you build your foundation.

Month 1

• Warehouse preparation.
• Equipment testing.
• Cable management.
• Packing and loading vehicles.
• Learning how equipment is handled.
• Assisting experienced crew.
• Understanding how our jobs are prepared before they go out.

Month 2

• Setting up TVs and projectors.
• Running audio and video cables.
• Assisting livestreams.
• Helping with microphones, speakers and display systems.
• Building confidence on event sites.
• Learning how to work safely and efficiently with the team.

Month 3 And Beyond

As your skills grow, you will begin operating equipment, solving problems independently and taking ownership of larger parts of each event.

You may start helping with audio systems, video switching, livestream equipment, LED walls, lighting, projection or more advanced technical setups.

Our goal is not just to teach you tasks.

A Typical Event Day

Every day is different, but here is an example.

11:00 AM

Warehouse briefing and equipment preparation.

1:00 PM

Load vehicles and travel to venue.

3:00 PM

Set up displays, speakers, projectors, microphones and staging.

5:00 PM

Test every system before guests arrive.

7:00 PM

Support the live event.

10:00 PM onwards

Teardown, return equipment and prepare for tomorrow.

Some jobs are small meeting rooms.

Some are large ballrooms.

Some are exhibitions.

Some are livestreams.

Some are simple.

Some are complex.

That is what makes this industry interesting.

Technology You’ll Learn

Depending on the projects you are assigned to, you will gain experience with professional AV equipment used in real corporate events.

You may learn about:

• Professional audio systems.
• Wireless microphones.
• Speakers and mixers.
• Large display systems.
• Projectors and projection systems.
• LED walls.
• Livestream and webcast equipment.
• Video switching systems.
• Signal flow.
• HDMI, SDI and CAT6 cabling.

These are practical technical skills that become more valuable the more you use them.

You will not learn them from sitting behind a desk.

You learn them by preparing, setting up, testing, operating and improving every week.

• Prepare equipment independently.
• Build standard AV systems with minimal supervision.

Career Progression

This is not a dead-end job.

You do not get promoted because you have been here the longest.

As your skills and reliability grow, so will your responsibilities.

Strong crew may move into audio, video, lighting, livestream, LED wall work, site leadership, project coordination or operations management.

That is perfectly okay.

This career is not for everyone.

What We Don’t Expect You To Know

Do not worry if you have never touched professional AV equipment before.

You do not need to know:

• Audio engineering.
• Video switching.
• Lighting programming.
• LED wall systems.
• Signal flow.
• Livestream production.
• Projection mapping.
• Advanced troubleshooting.

We will teach you.

What we cannot teach is reliability, honesty, ownership and caring about doing good work.

That is what we are looking for.

Experience

Previous AV, production, staging, rental, technical support or events experience is a bonus, but not required.

If you have worked with microphones, speakers, projectors, HDMI, SDI, CAT6, switchers or LED walls, great.

If not, but you are reliable, practical and willing to learn, we would still love to hear from you.

A Singapore Class 3 Driving Licence is helpful but not essential.

How Our Schedule Works

Corporate events do not happen on a fixed Monday to Friday timetable.

Some days start earlier.

Some days finish later.

Some weekends are busy.

We understand that people need to plan their lives.

When there is no assigned event reporting time, our default reporting time is 11:00 AM at our warehouse.

Whenever possible, tomorrow’s reporting time is confirmed by the evening before so you know where you are expected to be.

The work is dynamic.

Our communication should not be.
